Guest mcyoungy Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 I have a 2002 90 bhp TDi. Is this a PD? (I think it is) Would it be an ANU? Where is the code found on the engine? TIA Quote

tim-spam Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Yes, the 2002 90PS TDI is a PD engine, and the engine code is ANU. This code should form part of the engine number, which you can find on the engine block or in the front of your service booklet. Quote
Guest mcyoungy Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Thanks Tim. I was convinced it was, but a work colleague "expert" was adamant that the "smallest" PD was 100bhp. Any idea what the differences are between the 90 and 115? How the extra power is gained? Quote
tim-spam Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 For certain, on the 115PS version, there will be a different ECU, higher performance turbo, different injectors, improved piston cooling and an uprated cooling system. It is also likely that the cylinder head porting and other internal changes will have been made. However, in our relatively temperate climate, it may be possible to chip tune a 90PS up to 115PS or more without too much of a risk. Quote
Guest mcyoungy Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 thanks Tim. Not really bothered about more go - I have the bike for that. Just wondered like. Quote

big_kev Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Any idea what the differences are between the 90 and 115? How the extra power is gained? More diesel is fed into the engine Quote
littledaz Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 90bhp PD engine has different, probably smaller, turbo and a smaller intercooler than 115. Engine ecu likely to be mapped to suit also. Think of the 90bhp as a strangled 115bhp. ;) Quote
